Is my information confidential?

Exceptions: Confidentiality may be broken in limited circumstances:

- Serious threat of harm to yourself or others
- Your written consent
- We will always discuss these exceptions with you prior to releasing any information.
Is online counseling effective?
Yes, online counseling (teletherapy) can be highly effective.

What is the cost of counseling?
Cost varies depending on your insurance coverage.
- If you have insurance: Contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage, deductible, and co-pay. Verify if Allied Counseling and Wellness, PLLC is in-network.
- For self-pay, couples, and out-of-network clients: Current rates are $175 for the initial session for individual counseling and $135 for each session after that. Couples counseling is $175 per session. Some out-of-network and couples counseling sessions may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Because our rates are subject to change, please contact us directly for the most current information.
How long are the sessions?
Initial Session: Typically, 60-75 minutes.
Subsequent Sessions: 50-60 minutes.
How long does it take to feel better?
There is no set timeframe. The length of therapy varies greatly depending on individual needs and goals.
Do I have to be completely honest?
No, but honesty is very important for effective therapy and will greatly benefit your journey.

What happens in the first session?
The initial session is an opportunity to:

Will therapy "cure" me?

Will I receive a diagnosis?
If you are using insurance, a diagnosis may be required for billing purposes.
Your therapist will discuss the diagnosis with you and answer any questions you may have.
Can you prescribe medication?
No. Therapists at Allied Counseling and Wellness, PLLC do not prescribe medication.
